Along with Oblivion, the River is one of the only cards in the game that allow placement in all three types of tile terrain.Doing so is integral to progression though. One extremely important card type is the River, which will actually take the player quite a bit of effort and time to get their hands on. Acquiring new landscape and path cards is one of the most important ways to progress in Loop Hero. Transforms the Wasteland tile into a Bridge tile. Acquiring the Landscape Cards in Loop Hero will help you to progress in the game and one of the most important ones you can obtain is the River Landscape. Transforms the River tile into an Oasis tile. In other words: A tile adjacent to one 1 will have its effect multiplied by x2, a tile adjacent to 2 will be multiplied by x4, a tile adjacent to 3 will be multiplied by 圆, and a tile with a river tile on all 4 sides will be multiplied by x8. If multiple rivers are adjacent to the same tile, the 2x bonuses are added together.Keep this in mind when placing your rivers, or any other tiles that may block a river's path. Only one continuous river is allowed per map.The river's source can only be used for oasis synergies if it's placed after the Desert tile.Oblivion must erase the river in order: from the most recently placed River/Reed/Bridge tile, all the way back to the source.This, however, will turn the river immediately into a Reed and a Bridge tile, respectively. At first, the placement of the River tiles is the same as every other Landscape tile, but when the Bridge building is built at your Camp, you gain the ability to extend the river next to or even under the Road by creating a bridge tile.Every other river tile will have to be placed in the prolongation of the previous ones. The first River tile can only be placed on the border of the map, creating a River's Source.This does only cover one 5×12 side of the map, and could be mirrored if you continued the river. Since rivers can only start on the outermost tiles of the map, you’ll need to place the first river tile at the 5th row of the 1st column. Maybe it's due to the circulation of water, the most common necessary thing in our world. This layout, in total, gives an extra 234 attack speed, using only 22 thickets and 38 rivers. You may also note that existence itself seems to favor the river: The world around it grows stronger and more complete, as if waking up from a dream. It's physically impossible to remember a second river without finishing the first one. Loop Hero is an addictive deckbuilding roguelite. Being a memory, this river doesn't care much about not being complete. It's width, depth, and current are absolutely constant for its whole length.
